We're Flamingo Cricket Club
We are a purpose-driven company, with an open membership scheme, who operate an independent global cricket brand.- We’re committed to connecting a vibrant community of cricket lovers with cricket campuses in six or seven different places around the world. We promise to make a positive impact within the land that we inherit, and the local communities that we join.
- We are a progressive and modern club for all genders and beliefs. We believe in a more inclusive, sustainable, equitable and conscientious way of operating. No need for egg-and-bacon here!
- We believe that our efforts around sustainability and going beyond carbon neutrality - to become carbon positive - will inspire cricket clubs around the world to follow our lead.

Taking on the boundaries together
We continuously think about the places where cricket is played, the growth of the sport and cricket players opportunities to realise their potential. Our thinking is guided by our mantra ‘Taking on the boundaries together’. On the cricket field - when batting - you pick your moments to take on the boundaries, weighing up the risks and rewards, for the greater benefit of the team. It’s one part of what makes the sport so special and this positivity describes our mindset and steers everything we do.
Ambitions
We anticipate our first FCC cricket campus will host an international cricket match or T20 franchise fixture by 2030. We don’t intend to develop our own franchise team, we’d rather be a welcoming host of leagues and franchises who no doubt will expand the global reach of their fixtures. We're not looking to build traditional 25,000 all-seater stadiums. Instead, our focus is on developing six to seven further cricket campus schemes in countries that are currently underserved. Our geographic expansion will make it easier for people to experience the joy of playing and watching cricket. At the same time, it provides more opportunity for talented players to find their own pathways to the top of the game.
Looking beyond our geographical expansion, Flamingo Cricket Club can become a beloved brand, community and platform from which other cricket-related ventures can be launched.
Hopes and fears
We hope Flamingo Cricket Club becomes one of many purpose-driven cricket organisations who help to join the dots between the geographic expansion of the elite game - leagues, franchises etc - and increasing grassroots participation in new regions.
The fear is that all of professional cricket’s financial growth gets captured by a small number of capitalists who neglect investing in the broader game. For many, the democratisation of cricket is exciting, but there is no doubt significant reinvention and reimagination is needed before the wider game feels the benefits.
A sustainable future
We’re not just driven by the belief that cricket should be climate-positive, sustainable and cause no harm, Flamingo Cricket Club will actively respond to the climate threats it faces. We're doing this by creating cricket campuses that embrace innovative solutions to advance their sustainability and biodiversity. By leading the way with these campuses, we hope to inspire cricketing communities all over the world to take similar steps towards a more sustainable future.
People, community and planet at the heart of everything we do
We believe in contributing beyond our own peripheral vision, which is why we pledge to give 1% of our revenue to approved non-profit organisations focused on the environment through our support for One Percent for the Planet. In fact our commitments will go even further with our 10-2-1 pledge.
10% of FCC memberships will be gifted to elevate diversity and inclusivity - via charitable organisations
2% of FCC employee working hours will be given to volunteer work
1% of FCC annual revenue will be donated to One Percent for the Planet
Flamingo Cricket Club is established as a Public Benefit Corporation, incorporated in the state of Delaware, US. Being a Public Benefit Corporation means we are required by law to pursue a public benefit and to operate in a responsible and sustainable manner.
We will live and breathe our commitments by becoming a Certified B Corp and Climate Neutral Certified, within one year of opening our doors in Portugal.
The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it. We care deeply about making sure our impact on the world is a positive one and will go out of our way to bring the cricket industry along with us. Together, we can help protect and preserve this beautiful planet that we depend on for our cricketing pleasure.
